Terms of Service

Summary: Qew is free to use. Use it responsibly. We're not liable for how you use it or for the AI agents you connect to.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Qew (the "Service"), including our mobile application, command-line interface (CLI), and relay services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Qew is a remote control tool for AI coding agents that enables you to:

  • Send instructions to AI coding agents from your mobile device
  • Monitor AI agent responses in real-time
  • Queue multiple instructions for sequential execution
  • Manage git operations (stage, commit, push, branch) and create checkpoints
  • Preview dev server output directly from your mobile device
  • Create and run automated multi-step workflows (shortcuts)
  • Switch between AI providers (Claude, Codex, Gemini)

The Service consists of a mobile application, CLI tool, and VS Code extension that operate entirely on your local devices.

3. User Responsibilities

When using Qew, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to circumvent security measures
  • Not use the Service to transmit malicious code
  • Not use the Service to facilitate illegal activities
  • Take responsibility for all activities conducted through your devices

4. AI Agent Interactions

Qew facilitates communication with AI coding agents (such as Claude Code, OpenAI, Gemini, etc.) that you install and run locally on your own machine. You acknowledge that:

  • AI agents are installed locally on your machine and are not provided by Qew
  • Qew is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any AI agent providers
  • You are solely responsible for obtaining, installing, and licensing any AI agents
  • You are responsible for the instructions you send to AI agents
  • AI-generated code should be reviewed before use in production
  • Qew does not control, monitor, or guarantee the behavior of AI agents
  • You must comply with the terms of service of any AI agent you use
  • Any issues with AI agent behavior should be directed to the respective AI provider

5. Security

While we implement end-to-end encryption for all communications:

  • You are responsible for securing your devices and QR codes
  • Do not share your pairing QR codes with untrusted parties
  • Report any security vulnerabilities responsibly to qew@swishfoundry.com

6. Local Operation

Qew operates entirely on your local devices:

  • All data stays on your devices
  • We do not operate servers that store or process your data
  • Communication happens directly between your paired devices
  • You are responsible for your own network security

7. Intellectual Property

The Qew name, logo, branding, and software are proprietary and owned by Swish Foundry. Your code and data remain entirely your property—we have no access to it due to end-to-end encryption.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY
  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • AVAILABILITY OR RELIABILITY

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL QEW, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any actions taken by AI agents in response to your instructions

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Qew and its contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.

11. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue any part of the Service
  • Update these Terms of Service
  • Change features or functionality

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use Qew. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

13. Termination

Since Qew operates entirely locally on your devices, there is no service access for us to terminate. You may stop using Qew at any time by uninstalling the application.

14. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the project maintainer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
